Surmounting the Hurdles to Unwanted Weight Loss

August 29, 2012
admin

As you start work at unwanted weight loss goals, you should realize that youll inevitably experience difficulties. Change in lifestyle will never be easy, and you are sure to hit a couple of bumps on the road. The bottom line is to organize ahead of time for occasions and conditions that may lead you to get off track, and formulate a method for reducing their effect on how well youre progressing, as you can find at hcg diet.

An easy compliment for your weight loss routine, is to consume some oats. You heard right, oatmeal is known to help you slim down in a couple of ways. By consuming oatmeal each morning, it will eliminate your requirement for that mid-day snack. Avoid flavored and sugared oatmeal, for the best results.

When you are traveling in a strange city, dont request your accommodation concierge staff for restaurant or sightseeing recommendations. At many major hotels, the concierge really gets to be a kickback to make certain recommendations. You wont acquire the best recommendations or the best offer. Rather, request the local people at various venues that suit your taste.

When starting on an appetite suppressant journey, especially a substantial one, set multiple small goals rather than concentrating on the primary goal. Its a lot more formidable to consider losing 50 pounds in six weeks than to pay attention to losing ten pounds in a single month. By selecting the more compact goal, youll have lost 60 pounds rather than 50.

An important part of any weight loss program is including exercise in your daily routine. Even 15 or 20 minutes of exercise each day will burn some calories making it simpler for you to slim down and maintain a healthy and slimmer body. Exercise also develops muscle capable of burning more calories during your rest time than body fat cells.

Enough sleep also put you on the right path to weight reduction. To effectively burn body fat, the body requires sleep. Your mind needs sufficient sleep to remain sound and make good choices, and youll have the ability to make excellent food and exercise decisions. The body must rest both physically and psychologically to be at its best.

Eating less body fat can lead to weight reduction. Normally, people in America consume way too many grams of body fat daily. You should be consuming around 30% in your calories from body fat, which isnt much. When eating fats, it is advisable to make certain they are in a dietary form, for example an avocado. Dont eliminate body fat completely to slim down, but do keep the amount low.

One more tip to keep trim and promote weight reduction is to eat breakfast. It might appear like good sense, however, many people believe that missing breakfast can help to save on calories. It might save money on calories within the short term, although not eating anything each morning may cause intense urges at lunchtime. It might even make you need to reach for your 11 a.m. Donut, which youre attempting to avoid.

If you wish to jumpstart unwanted weight loss, try reducing on the quantity of carbohydrates you consume. Lowering the amount of carbohydrates you take, implies that your body needs to begin utilizing body fat for energy, rather than the carbohydrates it usually uses, which means your weight starts to decrease. Use positive words about slimming down. Utilizing a healthy vocabulary can help you make smarter food options. Tell people youre making the kitchen connoisseur change rather than a HCG Shots change. Tell yourself youre making a proper choice in snacks rather than denying your craving. Over time, using an optimistic vocabulary can help you achieve unwanted weight loss goals.

Becoming more conscious of what youre eating would allow you to slim down by recording all the meals and drinks that you consume for any week. Dont modify your diet plan by any means whenever you do that, youre just taking inventory of the items you are putting in the mouth area. After you have honestly recorded the food and beverage intake, you may make healthier changes.

Doing cardio is also an easy way to lose calories and slim down. Furthermore cardio for example cycling, running, and stair walking assist you to slim down. When you carry them out, you can burn fat for hours later on. Pick a workout that you simply enjoy and get started!

Spy drones can be hijacked by terrorists, used as weapons

November 23, 2012
energy

(NaturalNews) Most Americans can conjure up images of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, when terrorists hijacked jetliners and used them as guided, fuel-laden missiles to cause the most casualties.

Now, imagine those scenarios being played out on a smaller, but more frequent, scale, all across the country. It’s possible, if a change in U.S. policy regarding domestic airspace goes through.

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin recently demonstrated what they regard as a gargantuan hole in the government’s plans to open the skies to drone surveillance. In a staged exhibition at Austin Stadium, professor Todd Humphreys and his team of researchers showed how drones can be successfully hijacked by terrorist operatives and turned into weapons.

“Spoofing a GPS receiver on a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) is just another way of hijacking a plane,” Humphreys told Fox News.

That means anyone with the right equipment can intercept the signal which guides the drone and make it do what they want it to do.

Up to now, the report said, the biggest concern regarding drone flight has been GPS jammers, which are readily available online. They are used for a number of things, such as hiding the improper use of a company fleet vehicle that is tracked by GPS, for example.

Previous reports have also said that Iran may have intercepted a U.S. military drone inside its territory near the border with Afghanistan in December 2011.

But “spoofing” drone signals are a newer concern in the older world of GPS navigation. So much so that researchers like Humphreys are sounding the alarm.

Jammers can create problems for GPS systems by interfering with the signal, but spoofing, on the other hand, is a major step forward in technology. That’s because spoofers are able to change navigational coordinates by inserting false information that looks real to the drone.

30,000 guided missiles?

Humphrey’s device, which he called the most advanced spoofer ever built, is capable of infiltrating a drone’s GPS system with a signal much more powerful than the one guiding it from a satellite far above the earth.

It works like this: Initially, his device sends a signal that matches the signal already being used to guide the drone, so it doesn’t suspect anything is wrong. Next, he “attacks,” per se, by sending his own commands. And viola, the drone is his.

It’s a serious situation, he says.

“In five or ten years you have 30,000 drones in the airspace,” he told Fox News. “Each one of these could be a potential missile used against us.”

Imagine an enemy being able to seize control of tens of thousands of potential cruise missiles. He could strike anytime, anywhere – and with little-to-no warning.

It’s not so far-fetched. Consider that NaturalNews’ own founder and editor, Mike Adams, suggested this exact scenario recently in an interview with technology expert David Chalk.

Drones, so far, have mostly been used to hunt extremists and terrorists overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen. But increasingly, civilian and federal law enforcement agencies have been buying and deploying drones of varying sizes throughout the country.

What’s more, many of these – especially those operated by federal agencies like the Immigration Control and Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Border Patrol, are operating the same models the military is using overseas; the only difference is, of course, the domestic versions are unarmed.

Morever, those particular drones are large. The Predator B drone, for example, which is becoming more popular with federal and police agencies, is as large as a small fighter jet.

Privacy is another concern, but…

The popularity of drones has risen dramatically in the past few years – so much so that in February, Congress ordered the Federal Aviation Administration to come up with new rules to allow commercial use of drones over the U.S. by 2015.

Eventually, scores of drones operated by local police departments to keep an electronic eye on American cities; by power companies to monitor transmission lines; oil companies to monitor pipelines; mailing companies to deliver packages (Fred Smith, the founder of FedEx, says he wants to add unmanned drones to his fleet as soon as he can).

But besides the threat posed by spoofing, millions of Americans are increasingly worried drones will be used to create (or enhance) a surveillance society, in which privacy is at a premium, despite being constitutionally protected (for the record, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul has launched a preemptive strike of his own against domestic drone use by proposing legislation requiring police to first obtain a warrant before using a drone for surveillance.

Humphrey’s experiment, however, reveals a potentially more dire problem involving drones.

“What if you could take down one of these drones delivering FedEx packages and use that as your missile? That’s the same mentality the 9-11 attackers had,” Humphreys said.

The government is aware of the problem. Humphreys has given FAA and Department of Homeland Security similar demonstrations; he’s taken control of their drones as well, using his high-tech spoofer.

“I’m worried about them crashing into other planes,” he said, according to Fox News. “I’m worried about them crashing into buildings. We could get collisions in the air and there could be loss of life, so we want to prevent this and get out in front of the problem.”

Mainstream media, medical journals pushing ADHD drugs for six-year-olds

energy

(NaturalNews) There is a fresh agenda afoot to begin diagnosing children as young as six years of age with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and drugging them with dangerous medications like Ritalin (methylphenidate), Adderall (dextroamphetamine and amphetamine), and Prozac (fluoxetine). And the mainstream media seems to be working lockstep with medical journals to create the illusion that doing this is vital for childhood health and development.

A recent study published in the journal Pediatrics, and promoted by ABC News, for instance, suggests that the earlier a child is diagnosed with ADHD, the more likely he or she is to get better grades in school. Waiting too long to get diagnosed, in other words, can cause children with ADHD to have more educational troubles, say the authors.

Based on data collected from 12,000 Icelandic children who began taking ADHD medication between fourth and seventh grades, researchers from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York determined that children who began taking ADHD medications in fourth grade experienced an overall drop in their math scores of 0.3 percent, compared to a nine percent drop among children who began taking ADHD medication around sixth or seventh grade.

All the children in the study, however, experienced some decrease in academic performance. But those who began getting drugged the earliest had slightly less of a decrease, which led study authors to the wild conclusion that children need to be diagnosed with ADHD and drugged as early as possible to improve their overall condition.

This “get ‘em while they’re young” approach is a great tactic for the pharmaceutical industry to maintain both record-level profits and a steady stream of fresh customers. But the effects of these drugs on the children taking them, millions of whom do not even have ADHD, will be disastrous. Amphetamines like those found in the popular ADHD drug Adderall, for instance, are highly addictive and potentially very destructive.

Heart attack, stroke, elevated blood pressure, and even sudden death are among the extreme side effects associated with Adderall (http://www.naturalnews.com/029584_Adderall_side_effects.html). And both Prozac and Ritalin can cause children to incur depression, anxiety, and tendencies towards killing others or themselves.

The very legitimacy of ADHD as a disease has also been called into question by many who see its “symptoms” as nothing more than natural variations in human personality and behavior. Particularly, over-diagnosed are young boys, whose high energy levels are often conveniently labeled as ADHD in order to forcibly conform them into the government education system.

Oftentimes, legitimate behavioral and developmental problems in children are a result of environmental and dietary toxins. Processed sugars like high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), artificial flavorings and colorings, preservatives, and other unhealthy foods can provoke behavior problems, as can vaccines. Many parents who have restructured their ADHD-diagnosed child’s diet have witnessed an incredible, natural reversal of symptoms commonly associated with ADHD.

Physical activity lowers breast cancer risk by nearly 30 percent

energy

(NaturalNews) Most health-minded individuals understand the importance of regular physical activity to maintain optimal health and prevent a host of chronic diseases ranging from heart disease and diabetes to stroke and dementia. In the past, studies have suggested that regular exercise may reduce the risk of certain cancers, including breast cancer, but many questions have remained unanswered regarding activity duration, exercise type and intensity.

Researchers from the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health in Chapel Hill publishing in the journal CANCER have found that physical activity, either mild or intense and before or after menopause, may reduce breast cancer risk. As an aside, the scientists discovered that substantial weight gain may negate these benefits. The lead study investigator, Dr. Lauren McCullough and her team looked for a link between recreational physical activity, done at different time points in life, and the risk of developing breast cancer.

The study examined 1,504 women with breast cancer (233 noninvasive and 1,271 invasive) and 1,555 women without breast cancer who were 20 to 98-years-old. Participants were part of the Long Island Breast Cancer Study Project, an investigation set up to review possible environmental causes of breast cancer. Researchers determined that women who exercised either during their reproductive or postmenopausal years had a reduced risk of developing breast cancer.

The study found that women who exercise between ten and nineteen hours per week experienced a 30 percent decrease in breast cancer risk. Risk levels were reduced regardless of duration or intensity, meaning that a rigorous workout was not necessary to achieve positive results. Exercise seemed to lower the risk of hormone receptor positive breast cancer (ER or PR positive), which is the most commonly diagnosed tumor type among American women.

The study team highlighted the finding that increased body weight increased overall risk of developing breast cancer, regardless of hours spent exercising. Clearly, physical activity is important to lower risk, but gaining weight can negate the effect and is an independent risk factor. Dr. McCullough concluded “The observation of a reduced risk of breast cancer for women who engaged in exercise after menopause is particularly encouraging given the late age of onset for breast cancer.” A daily 30 minute walk and maintaining a healthy body weight provide a significant shield against this insidious disease.

Common crop pesticide is a public health threat causing diabetes

November 22, 2012
energy

(NaturalNews) Diabetes is brought to you in part by Bayer AG – Germany. You know, the most powerful German corporate cartel in the first half of the 20th century – IG Farben (AKA Bayer) – and the single largest profiteer from World War II. This is the same IG Farben that was intimately involved with the human experimental atrocities committed by Mengele at Auschwitz. This company is in business today because we continue to buy their products.

IG Farben was the only German company to run its own concentration camp. At least 30,000 slave workers died in this camp and a lot more were deported to gas chambers. It was no coincidence that IG Farben built their giant plant in Auschwitz, since the 300,000 people they used there were free. The Zyklon B gas, which killed millions of Jews, Gypsies and other people was produced by IG Farben’s subsidiary company Degesch.

ScienceDaily (June 25, 2012) – A new study finds that the fungicide tolylfluanid, manufactured by Bayer AG and used on farm crops can induce insulin resistance and provides yet another piece of evidence linking environmental pollutants to diabetes. The results were presented June 23 at The Endocrine Society’s 94th Annual Meeting in Houston. “For the first time, we’ve ascribed a molecular mechanism by which an environmental pollutant can induce insulin resistance, lending credence to the hypothesis that some synthetic chemicals might be contributors to the diabetes epidemic,” said investigator Robert Sargis, M.D., Ph.D., instructor in the endocrinology division at the University of Chicago.

Sargis and co-investigators examined the effects of tolylfluanid on insulin resistance at the cellular level and found that exposure to tolylfluanid induced insulin resistance in fat cells. Sargis says “The fungicide and antifouling agent tolylfluanid may pose a threat to public health through the induction of adipocytic-insulin resistance, an early step in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes… Based on these studies, further efforts should be undertaken to clarify human exposure to tolylfluanid and the possible metabolic consequences of that exposure.”

Close to 26 million adults and children have some form of diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. Diabetes increases the risk of other medical complications, including heart and blood-vessel diseases. In the last decade, research has increasingly focused on the link between environmental contaminants and the escalating rates of diabetes, obesity and other metabolic diseases. Environmental pollutants like tolylfluanid are potential contributors to the rampant metabolic disease epidemic we see today.Tolylfluanid has been banned for use in the US because it causes thyroid tumors in rats (not dose/concentration-related), and kidney damage to renal tubules (because tolyfluanid is actually another hidden source of fluoride). The main source for tolylfluanid entering the US is on imported apples and apple juice, grapes and grape juice, head lettuce, hops, tomatoes and other products to which tolylfluanid is applied a maximum of 15 times per season. Tolylfluanid is classified by the EPA as “Likely to be carcinogenic to humans” based on the following weight-of-the-evidence findings: Tolylfluanid induced follicular cell thyroid tumors in high-dose male and female rats and were reproducible. In vitro and in vivo mutagenicity assays found gene mutations and chromosomal aberrations in mammalian cells.

Under other names and uses, this chemical is widely used in paints, wood preservatives and in marine applications.

Even with growing public awareness of environmental toxins and the diseases they cause, it will take decades of human suffering and misery before any semblance of a solution comes to light. Meanwhile it is in the power of the consumer to influence Big Pharma by refusing to buy their products. This will certainly bring about changes quicker than the Big Money-influenced legislation processes. Where is our public outrage? Where do our loyalties lie?

Support public health and decency, be an informed consumer.

Avoiding sulfates can save your skin and hair

energy

(NaturalNews) Sulfates are a group of detergents or surfactants that are used in countless consumer goods today. The most commonly used sulfates are sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). These corrosive cleaning agents started off as an industrial strength cleaning additive since they easily cut through heavily soiled surfaces.

It was around the 1930′s when shampoo, soap, toothpaste and other foaming personal care products containing these synthetic detergents were introduced. They have remained in most commercial formulations ever since the public grew used to high-lather products.

The fact that SLS and SLES detergents produce such a heavy, thick lather is not a good thing when it comes to your skin, hair and mouth. This corrosive lather actually strips away precious moisture and protective barriers.

It also roughs up the cuticle of the hair, making it appear dull, dry and damaged. The stripping action contributes to increased porosity which makes for a dull appearance and more problems with frizz and manageability. It has even been linked to follicular damage and can potentially contribute to hair loss.

When used in the mouth, it has a similar effect by eating away at the outer layers of protective skin cells and irritating the tissues. Using sulfate-containing toothpastes has been linked to canker sores and other lesions.

Soaps and skin cleansers containing these detergents strip away the protective lipids (natural fats) that encase the skin. They upset the moisture balance of the skin and unnecessarily dry it out. The false sense of “clean” that these detergents give is really due to the fact that they are stripping our protective layers from our skin and hair.

Sulfates themselves are classified as a skin and membrane irritant and therefore, also a possible carcinogen with repeated or prolonged exposure. They also can produce even more hazardous by-products by the other ingredients they are often blended with.

The interactions with other common cleansing ingredients cause an offspring of toxins called nitrosamines. These are of the nitrate family. You may have read about these compounds as they are well known carcinogens when consumed or applied to the skin.

Two chemicals called 1,4 dioxane and ethylene oxide are also commonly found as contaminants in sulfate detergents. Dioxane is a known carcinogen and ethylene oxide is classified as a developmental and nervous system toxin by the California EPA.

While it is true that sulfates are the cheapest way to get a large amount of lather, it is totally unnecessary to actually clean bodily surfaces. There are many natural astringents that cleanse the surface of the hair, skin and even the mouth without damaging or breaching protective barriers. There are also gentle and natural sudsing agents that clean without compromising the integrity of these tissues.

We have simply grown used to piles of lather because that is what we’ve been exposed to. Larger amounts of lather simply equate to excessively stripping, drying and corroding the delicate surface of the hair and skin. Skipping these high-lather detergents will mean healthier looking, shinier, and more vibrant skin and hair as well as a healthier mouth.

Change your gut flora and lose weight

November 19, 2012
energy

(NaturalNews) Obese and lean individuals have different gut flora composition. The gut microbiota of mice and humans are similar, with Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes dominating. At this point it’s not clear exactly which species are important in weight management. Some studies show reduced numbers of Bacteroidetes in obese subjects, while others point to lower levels of beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus.

Even though diet will affect gut flora composition, most studies conclude that gut flora on it’s own has an effect on weight. Alteration of the gut microbiota can be an important part of a weight loss program.

Several mechanisms have been proposed as to how gut flora regulates weight. Inflammation, energy from polysaccharides, insulin sensitivity and energy expenditure and storage are all affected by gut flora.

What you eat affects the gut flora composition, but it can also be hypothesized that it can happen the other way around; that gut flora partly determines what you eat. People with gut dysbiosis and especially yeast overgrowth often feel sugar cravings. Gut flora can probably influence food cravings and thereby play a part in determining dietary choices.

Obesity is hereditary, and the importance of gut flora shouldn’t be underestimated. Flora is passed on from mother to child during birth, breastfeeding and early years. The child also comes in contact with microorganisms from other family members. “Obese gut flora” is passed on to the child.
Children born via caesarean have double the risk of becoming overweight, according to research by Harvard scientists. The obesity increase has been linked to a lack of exposure to good bacteria which may be found in the vaginal wall.

Differences in intestinal microflora during the first year of life have been associated with higher risk of obesity later in life. Especially low levels of Bifidobacteria make children more susceptible to weight gain.

Obese individuals usually have a dysfunctional gut flora with higher numbers of LPS-containing microbiota and methane-producing bacteria. LPS, Lipopolysaccharide, is linked to obesity, leaky gut and low-level chronic inflammation.

Colonization of germ-free mice with gut flora from either obese or lean mice, leads to significantly greater increase in total body fat in those colonized with “obese microbiota.” Animal studies further show that probiotic supplements with Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species help maintain a healthy bodyweight and promote weight-loss. Cattle treated with antibiotics store a lot of fat, and this is one of the reasons why these drugs are used so frequently in feedlots.

A healthy diet with reduced consumption of sugar, processed carbohydrates, most vegetable oils, anti-nutrients, etc. will on it’s own promote weight loss and a healthier gut flora.

Additional gut flora modifications can also be an important part of a weight-loss plan. Simply eating yoghurt will not make any substantial difference in most people. Minimally washed organic plants and plant products, fermented foods and probiotic supplements are all good sources of beneficial bacteria. Prebiotics, soluble fiber that feed good bacteria, can be found in leeks, onions, apples etc.
