DailyKos: Despite requests to investigate abuses, Susan Collins refused to do so

See also: Previous Maine News stories: 116 previous stories on Senator Susan Collins, 109 on Rep. Tom Allen, 66 on the 2008 Maine Senate Race and 9 on Daily Kos.

DailyKos Excerpt:
"Cross osted at Turn Maine Blue
From senate2008guru we learn that despite repeated requests from other members of the Senate's Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, then chair Susan Collins refused to call even one hearing into widely reported theft, fraud, cost-overuns and abuses in Iraq...

You can find the letters from Sen. Lautenberg here, here, here, and here."

Alex: I've advocated that both campaigns run more positvely visioned campaigns (as opposed to attacks). I realize that with the drumbeat of attacks continuing (as reported above), it makes it more difficult to do so.
I'm making this post for two reasons. One, DailyKos is a major national blog site (we also cover Maine sites which are also covering it) and two, I personally believe that Senator Collins did a PHENOMENAL job in regard to Katrina waste and abuse oversight, and I'd like to see what her response is to the DailyKos (and others) post. And I'll add a third reason. I'd like to see Rep. Allen address whether he agrees with these sites, and a more fundamental question of whether these sites are, in some sense or other, doing his work for him (for lack of a better phrase).
