Steven Rowe running for Maine Governor 2010

Alex: Welcome aboard Steve. Former Attorney General Rowe is considered one of the favorites in the 2010 race for Maine Governor. I've always felt that if you want to be in a position of responsibility, that you should welcome - and gladly -  those who would contest you.

I wrote the book This Great State (click to read free) because I believe that voters deserve an in-depth examination in regard to a candidate's thinking and vision so that they can compare between candidates and make their own determinations in regard to the sophistication (or not) or what is being offered.

It is clear that Steven has a notable resume. However, that in itself is clearly not enough, as the Governor's office is not a personal reward for years of service. A Governor - if voters agree - should be the individual who is most capable in regard to successfully managing and working with others to best address the problems facing the state.

Governor Baldacci also had a very strong resume before becoming Governor as related to legislative service etc. (no slight to the present Governor, who I believe has many strengths but to my mind has done only a moderately good job at best as Governor).

Excerpt:
"Rowe says he'll make a formal announcement and kick off his campaign at a later date. "Our challenges are great, but our opportunities are greater," Rowe says in a statement. "Working together, we can unleash the potential of Maine people and our state's economy. "
Alex: I agree with what he is saying entirely. The above quotes by Steven are sound bites, and cannot be meaningfully judged until further detail is provided.

Excerpt:
"Rowe said he plans to launch his campaign Web site, www.roweforgovernor.com later today."
Alex: Why would I list the website of a competitor? I invite comparisons and feedback. Thank you very much for your consideration.
